David Ericson was born and raised near Akron, Iowa, where he helped raise corn, soybeans, and cattle growing up — something he still does today. He graduated from Akron-Westfield High School before attending Morningside College (now Morningside University), where he played football and earned a degree in Business Administration and Finance.

Before entering the commodity brokerage business, David sold commercial truck insurance for Cottingham & Butler in Dubuque, Iowa, and worked in the Trust Department at Peoples Bank in Sioux Center, Iowa. Both roles shaped his approach to client service. David has been a registered broker and branch office manager since 2015, and today serves clients as part of the AgOptimus team.

David is also a familiar voice in regional ag media, appearing on TV on behalf of AgOptimus on KTIV in Sioux City, Iowa, and heard on 570 AM, Rural Radio, and the American Ag Network.

Outside the office, David and his wife, Roni, are raising their two sons near Akron. He serves as council president at his church and is an active member of the Akron-Westfield FFA Alumni Association.
